Inflatable Slip Rental Regulations

The Conomo Point Association (CPA) has designated a limited area of the T float dock for the convenience of Paid Members of the CPA (“Members”) to use powered inflatables to access their boats moored in the areas designated by the Town of Essex. Such use of this designated area is subject to the following regulations:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  1. Slip Rentals are limited to: 
    • Paid Members of the CPA,
    • Possessing an active mooring in the areas designated by the Town of Essex, and
    • Only for Inflatables registered in the Member’s name.
  2. The Slip Rental Fee is $200.00 per year
    • Both the Slip Fee and CPA Membership must be paid by June 1st each year.
    • Members failing to pay Slip and Membership Fees by June 1st will forfeit their slip and the space given to the next Member of the waitlist.
  3. If a Member has not utilized the assigned area by July 1st, permission to tie-up to the dock shall be revoked, any rental fee paid for the current season will be refunded, and the space reassigned to the next individual on the waitlist.
  4. No Member may loan, rent, donate, sell, or lease their slip to another person
    • Only one rental space (or waitlist position) is authorized per Family.
  5. Authorized Members utilizing the area designated for inflatables do so at their own risk. The Conomo Point Association is not responsible for any personal injury and/or damage to or loss of any personal property.


DESIGNATED RENTAL SLIP SPACE REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Inflatables must be tied-up on the Crab Island side of the main run of the T-float dock only. There will be no inflatables or dinghies permitted to tie-up to any other part of T-float dock or to the Farnsworth Dock.
  2. There are no reserved spaces. Boat owners must tie up at any available space along the dock.
  3. There must be only one boat tied to a single cleat or ring.
  4. Line to the dock must be no longer than 2-3 ft in length and must be attached to the bow at the centerline. 
  5. Use of a bike lock, padlock, or any other lock on the line from boat to the dock is not permitted.
  6. A current Inflatable Slip Rental Sticker must be affixed to top of the engine cowling or on the inside of the transom on the port side (to be viewable from the dock).
  7. Members are responsible for bailing, fastening their inflatables for storms, maintaining lines in good condition, securing equipment, etc.


BOAT & MOTOR REQUIREMENTS

  1. Only Inflatable boats allowed (no hard sided boats).
  2. Inflatables must show current registration.
  3. Inflatables must not exceed 10 ft in length.
  4. Inflatables must have a motor and that motor must not exceed 10 HP.

WAIT LIST
Because only limited dock space is available for inflatables to tie-up and all the slips are currently full, there is a wait list for those members who would like to rent a space when one becomes available. Any current member of the Association can request to be added to the wait list by contacting Eric Donovan by email at: ConomoWaterfront@conomopoint.org

In order to remain on the wait list membership dues must be paid by June 1st of each year.
