The Conomo Point Association was formed July 7, 1937 by Robert W. Hill, Robert C. Clifford, Jr., James H. Watson, E. Ober Pride, Vincent Farnsworth, Francis Cogswell and Edwin L. Pride for the purpose of the following: To maintain and carry on an association for the benefit and improvement of Conomo Point, in the town of Essex, as a summer colony, and also for the benefit of the residents, at said Point; to provide entertainment, education and social life for the summer residents; to encourage and foster yachting, boating and other marine activities and contests; to encourage and foster other sports, games, contests and activities; and to take over, own, maintain and administer all the assets, both tangible and intangible, of the voluntary association known as Conomo Association.
